    UHF TV Channels

    Channels 27 to 62 are UHF Band (Band IV and V - 518 to 806 MHz).

    Analogue Transmissions conform to 625 line CCIR System B on VHF and the vision carrier frequency is nominally 1.25 MHz above the lower frequency edge of the channel; the centre frequency of the NICAM digital sound carrier (if transmitted) is 5.850 MHz above the vision carrier frequency. The B/G variant of 728 NICAM is used which has a total occupied bandwidth of 510 kHz.

    so what happens to band 3 frequencies ?

    and what is so wrong with using channels 24,25,26? which were allocated for digital in 1990 never used, could be a good home for the regional tv chs

    I assume that these frequencies in the first post (dated 2007) don't take into consideration the 700 Meg band to be used for LTE 4G services??

    Channel 26, Nelson is being used by Mainland TV broadcasting 10 Digital channels ( 8 TV & 2 Radio) along side Freeview on Digital TV and channel 27 Takaka hill .

    Lower than 26 seems to be landmobile rt in NZ
