Most mesh dishes go for $100 or less on Trademe now days.
What sat TV are you looking to get.
Intelsat 19@166e or Asiasat 7@10505e are the only ones with any good english stuff now days on C band.
If you are looking for Chinese then Chinasat 6b.

As for Ku band, for the most part there is only Intelsat 19@166e and NZ FTA TV on Optus D1.

Then you will only get Ku band. For any good reception on C band you need 2.4m.
There is only junk stuff on Optus D2 Ku now days, RT has gone from there and PressTV has been bitch slapped off by the Yanks sanctions.
Optus D1 has SkyTV and NZ FTA only, with the occasional news feed.
Optus C1 has one test pattern.
Intelsat 19 ku has RT Euronews and France24 and a couple of minors things, all the rest is scrambled.
Intelsat 18@180e on Ku Low band had the french pacific stuff, with France24 in French and three other channels in french.

The end result of a 1.2m mover ku dish is RT France24 and Euronews, with the left over french and god channels.

The only other thing up there is the Multistream channel 9 TP that some boxes can display and a 1.2m dish is only just getting that.

If you realy want more stuff you need Isat19 C band off a 2.4m mesh dish.
Because Isat19@166e is so high in the sky, just west of north, you can have the dish set up at ground level.
The dish will point up at 40 degrees, so clearing the next tree or house is generally easy.
Look at dishpointer.com to see how your angles / clearance are.

my 2.4 m wasnt quite good enough for Intel 19 C band so would go for 3m minimum
also some seller on time selling 2.4&3m dish about 60 each

I would have to agree with willliis with the 3 meter recommendation. Eventually the satellites will have 2 degree separation. Still I see NZ$6000 doable for the 3 meter dish.
