no i was thinking 15 M hdmi cables from where ever the STB are setup. Guess it really depends on the size of the pub and if they are using DVBT signals as well.

The colour bars on two of the new channels show the letters 'TSGB'. What is TSGB ?

These new channels are 1080i HD, H.264
    800 Maori TV
    801 Te Reo

The test patterns are only 576. The "TSG_B" most likely Test SiGnal "B".
    802 TSGB (colour bars)
    803 TSGB (colour bars)

My Freesat STB reports that all terrestrial channels are H265 so I are not certain of this.

I tried tuning to these new Maori TV HD channels with Freeview approved (You only get what we want you to get!) Tv's today.

The Sony in as generic mode as I can get it would "See" the frequency and load the two named channels, now called "Test Service 1" and "Test Service 2".
The Sony would not load the other two test pattern channels.

The Veon showed the signal level in manual search mode, but removed the signal level after scanning the frequency and reporting "No services found".

We are being lied to by our TV's.

I contacted Maori TV regarding when and where they will be turning on more frequencies and I'm waiting for a reply.
NZ Radio spectrum reported to me that they only allocate radio spectrum and when and if it is used is up to the frequency holder.

Can any one in Auckland report if there is a new frequency active there yet?

If they turn C38 on in Auckland on Saturday and knock out SkyTV's on in house C38 modulators in pubs and motels there will be angry people who missed the Super Rugby final.

The renamed 1080i channels had EPG active today.

At 21:30 NZST TV3 went "Service not available" and when I went to change channel I was on the last channel I used.
When I returned to TV3 it was 1080i

    Tv1, Tv2 and TV3 are now 1080i H264 here in Christchurch Terrestrial.
The other plus one channels are still 576.

Maori TV is still 576 but the new 1080i channel is up on the new frequency.

    Edited:
Ok a bit of a look around says that these have been 1080i for a while and I had not noticed.
Something made my viewing stop and report "service unavailable" at 2130.
I'm was watching on my Sony in generic mode (as none freeview as I can get it).

Maori TV's communication person has reported to me that they are turning on their new frequency in Auckland in "Late August".
I have asked for the full list of all towns turn on dates.

    Be warned!!

    Default New Channels

The four '800' channels disappeared yesterday from my Sony TV. I did a rescan resulting in 31 channels. In the past there have been 29 channels. Wondered if there are both SD and HD channels and the Sony has selected the HD ones for Maori TV and Te Reo ?

My Sony did not scan in the "Test pattern" channels too.

On my Samsung TV in Nelson, its only loading 1 channel (Maori TV only in SD) on 808, pushing inbetween Mainland channels, resulting in the 2 mainland radio channels being pushed up to 809, 810.
