    Default NZ Terrestrial TV

    Hi

    RNZ Check Point.

I found a new feed on Christchurch Terrestrial.
Its Radio New Zealand's feed for Check Point with John Campbell starting on 18 Jan 2016.
Comes up "No Name", there are 3 no name feeds now, one with shopping on it.

John Campbell was live on this RNZ terrestrial TV channel today up to 6pm.
UHF channel 28. It shows up on NON freeview units but not on F View units.
News readers with headphones on and the odd photo and bits of video.
It will beat watching deal or no deal.

RNZ were planning some type of Talking heads radio / tv simulcast broadcast a few years back there was even talk of them having a tv channel to replace the old TVNZ 7. Considering how little talking heads current events type programming is watched these days. I reckon there isn't a market for it.

Freeview forum a few weeks ago said there was a new channel coming but they couldn't say it was ... hmmm?

The RNZ channel has no name at the moment. I suspect they will do that next weekend ahead of putting it up on Freeview.
I tried to get it on my Sony Bravia TV and failed due to it being Freeview blocked.
My Openbox V8 Combo does get it as it shows all the channels, including the UHF PayTV ones here in Chch.
Here in Christchurch its on UHF ch 28, same Freq as Al Jezzera.

Is this new channel loading on freeview yet? No sign of it on my Sony TV.

I think it is possible that the RNZ channel will come up on channel 50, the RNZ radio channel, but with video between 5 and 7pm for Check Point.
The channel is there with the web page for RNZ showing.
