Vatican Television Centre broadcasts first worldwide Ultra HD transmission

The ceremony of the opening of the Holy Door on 8 December, marking the beginning of the Jubilee Year of Mercy, will be the first worldwide Ultra HD broadcast via satellite. The event is being produced by the Vatican Television Center with the support of Eutelsat, Sony, Globecast and DBW Communication.

The Ultra HD images will be available via the 4K1 channel broadcast from Eutelsat's HOT BIRD video neighbourhood. Italian satellite TV homes with compatible devices will be able to follow the event in Ultra HD through Tivůsat. In France, the ceremony will be broadcast on the FRANSAT Ultra HD channel via the EUTELSAT 5 West A satellite. The event will also be available in High Definition around the world.

    Thanks Looking forward to it.
Will find out if these units do 8PSK and or 4K1 UHD.

    Thanks for the heads up.

unlikely to do 4k if it doesn't do 8psk

if it even recognises the signal will probably have a seizure upon scanning

    Nope.

Scanned in and even spat the UHD audio into the radio list.
