Not a bad deal really - It does have basic recoding ability as well - not that you said that was a requirement - nice to have though. Smart looking unit as well.

NO SPUDNUTS NO!!!!!!!!
Have a look at
http://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?ForumId=83&TopicId=24705
The thread is about 70 pages long and most of it is faults with the ET. This box appears to be a complete dog. Plus, if you look at the last few pages it appears as though the pvr function will be a no-go or at the very best be very unstable. :(

yep read that and spoke to the guy about it, specially the remote problems and he said it was sorted by them now and is an led problem, he also said he has firmware for the pvr now but it is crap and needs sorting. im in no rush for pvr and if i was i would have got a combined unit and not an external hard drive usb one. if it turns out to be crap ill take it back end of!!!:emozionato:

sweet as....
from reading the thread some people don't have any major issues.
i was just making sure you knew all the facts. it would be a bit disheartening to buy an ET and then read the geekzone thread.

Just buy the Dick Smith version of the Zinwell 620. Mine works fine and has for about a year now. It only cost a little more.

Yes it does run hot (well warm really) but mine has been on close to 24/7 for almost a year without any problems. It may be an issue if you plan to place it in a small unventilated space.
