Maybe I am too fussy...
I have two different DTT STB - a Zinwell and a Homecast and they are both buggy in different ways.
Zinwell - Occaisionally shows incorrect program information on the blue banner when changing channels , and refuses to display an EPG when requested to do so via remote. A power on/off via remote control fixes it.
Homecast - Occasionally locks up on channel change, goes silent, then siezes up completely. Needs a manual switch off/on on the box to restore it.
Both STB are up to date with firmware releases as far as I know, I have accepted every OTA that has come along. I acknowledge I am probably exhasibating (sp?) the problem by not switching the STBs off when I am finished watching TV - a power off/on cycle once a day would probably conceal the effects.
My question is, (esp for the Zinwell as IMHO it has been around long enough in our market to almost be considered "mature" )- given the length of time since release of the product, is this reasonable performance ? Are the manufacturers really motivated to sort these issues out?
Freeview customer help is helpless.
If my car had issues like that it would be subject to recall, and Windows would have had multiple service packs....
