Just out of interest, anyone in the Northland area been able to pick up the FreeviewHD signal from auckland?
I also understand the main 2 transmitters serving whangarei and greater northland are set to be upgraded when phase 2 happens.

unfortunately Northland has analogue services running on the AUCK dtt channels

Well hopefully Phase 2 does happen, else I guess people will be flocking to MySkyHDi to get tv3 at least in HD.
Given the recession I can't see National allocating any funding to it in the short term, but one would hope as things pick up it will change :)

At the end of the day content is king, not quality.

I'd expect to see freeview in HD via DVB-S after analogue switch off anyway.

NZ like other countries is committed to analogue closure . Its only a matter of time before most of the country has DTT and satellite to fill in the minor coverage areas
