I am going to visit family in aus for christmas, and I just found a site that sells heaps of leadtek tv tuners really cheap. I was wondering which ones will work with freeview.

The models available are:

DTV1000S
DTV1000
DTV2000H
DTV2300H
DVR3200H

Thanks in advance.

I don't see why they wouldn't.

It's the software that does all the work. Digital TV tuners are in effect dumb, with the digital signal being fed to the software, which together with the video card and CPU do the processing of the signal to give you TV.

I have an HVR1300 and HVR3000, which worth with Freeview and Freeview|HD

Guess it depends if you want to use DVB-T (Freeview|HD via terrestrial) or DVB-S (Freeview via satellite)

The included software probably be no use here would need some sort of Mpeg4 software for DTT and also check the tuner can do 8 meg channel spacing on UHF ( same as Europe ) as AUS is only 7 megs on UHF bit of an orphan !!

the new Hauppauge software actually does work with Freeview|HD (Power Cinema onwards), only Win TV doesn't work.

i just installed a leadtek dtv1800h. it took 2 days to get it sorted out. ended up used the latest drivers and an earlier version of pvr2. still cant get the record to function correctly. there tech support is really bad. my son techo in queensland tried as well same results. there tech support is worse. he recommended to buy a haupagge( spelling incorrect) just plug and play. we have always used and installed leadtek cards but regretably no more

I've got a DTV2000H. Just installed the latest driver and Winfast PVR2(2.0.3.19). Technically I can view all DVB-T channels. However it's a bit erractic, with a few frames of either video or sound dropped now and then. This becomes worse(to the point that's unbearable) when I use "Hardware Acceleration'. I would appreciate if anyone can point out how I can improve the situation. Hardware info: AMD 64x2 2.0GHz. 2GB Ram. NVidia 7900GS with 256MB VRam. Even when I set 'Hardware Acceleration' to 'Off', it still breaks up at the beginning whenever I switch to another HD channel.

Thanks
