Just thought it would be a good time to mention the mythtv-nz mailing list. For local advice on setting up and maintaining mythtv in NZ (including how to get a EPG feed) join the mailing list at:

or peruse the archives at:

All welcome. I am posting a message to the mailing list about this forum, so you may get some new members! There are approx 140-150 members of the mailing list.

Adding to that - if you've got a spare PC, a DVB-S card generally costs less than a generic no-name set-top box but it lets you do so much more!
The latest MythTV (as found in MythBuntu 8.04, released very recently) is great, providing a full cross-channel EPG and fantastic features for scheduling programme recordings. The real jewel in the crown feature of this release is that it can record multiple channels at the same time, provided they're from the same satellite transponder. So, for example, you could record a programme from TV1, another from TV2, and be watching something previously recorded - all at the same time.
And with two DVB-S cards in the same box, pretty much all recording situations for Freeview are covered. No need to ever miss anything again!
Oh, and did I mention it was free? :-)

So for someone like me, with the aforementioned spare PC, - what would you recommend as a card and where do I get one (or two)
