TV3/c4 reception problems

Hi

I've got a Sony KDL40W4000 with built in freeview tuner.

It works great on TV1, 2, and all the others except for TV3 and C4.

I live in Porirua, we're in a gully so no line of sight to Baxters Knob, or any of the other sites,

Does anyone have any idea why the reception would be fine on the channels other than TV3 or C4?

It sounds like you may have poor signal on one of the 3 UHF Multiplex
channels perhaps some tweaking of the antenna might help

Also have you tried a rescan of the channels ??

Also while viewing one of the DTT channels
Press OPTIONS on remote
then scroll down to System information

then Enter ( big round button on remote )
you should get an info page

with Software version Signal Level
and Bit Error rate

what is your Pre ViterBi reading ??
Im getting 3.3 e-4 and when conditions good gets ie
better signal ie into x.x e-5

If you are only getting x.x e-3 you may have sig or antenna / feeder problems

I've tried rescans,

The Pre ViterBi reading on TV3 is generally at 5.8 or higher, but e-2

Sometimes TV3 will get up to 6 or 7 but never off e-2

BTW TV2 seems to vary between e2 and e3

The reception also seems to be weather dependent, ie windy days are worse

Does it sound like the aerial or cabling?

Sounds like the signal is poor if you not getting up into the x.x e-4
area -5 even better

At 71km from Wharite with around 7 lots hills in way I get average of 3.3 e-4
on the 3 Muxes

Your end may be a combination of antennas cables splitters or location / weak signal
