Hi guys. Don't know if it's public knowledge yet, but in Christchurch, on UHF channel 43 (I think, it might be 45), a station called Voice TV is broadcasting a placeholder. According to the endless loop, it's going to be a Public-access station. Goes live on November 1st.

Dunno if it'll be that popular. Haven't seen any ads for it other than the channel itself.

The guy who's running it aired Arirang previously, and apparantly will when it launches as Voice TV.

Christchurch, i.e., Sugarloaf and Marley's Hill, use even channel numbers. Maybe you mean UHF 42.

Probably.
Edit: Just checked. Yup, it's 42.

What is this Voice TV gonna do, why would Canterbury need another regional TV Station when we already have CTV which already services our needs. What sort of programs will they have?

I think they broadcast to a more asian audiance than CTV.

They have a website in the works ATM too. voicetvnz.com

Not all that much to shout about though. It's been like that since at least April (I think). The only thing that's changed is the forecast opening date.

I share your hope of CTV being of DVB-T, but it's a loooong shot. The only way they make ends meet now is with a shedload of ads, and Visitor TV. Being on DVB-T would cost a lot of money (I've heard $150,000 quoted as a ballpark figure) which they just don't have. Ad time is already overstreched as it is.

But getting back to Voice TV, I remember the lounge. That was a fairly decent program, I thought they were just taking a seasonal break from filming (due to the nature of the show, it seems more like a weekly, rather than daily, format). Here's hoping...

Sorry, I'm a bit drunk at the moment :D

I'll trust you from now on when it comes to CTV.

The voice tv website has been updated.

Good to see it's not dead.
