Hi,
Is it a known problem with the Zinwell 620HD locking up on occasion when surfing through the channels? Just displays the information bar and sits there until powered off/on with remote. Signal strength 100%/95%, Quality 100% on all three transponders.
Connected to TV via HDMI and standard VCR via composite (no SVHS on VCR).
This box was only purchased 2 weeks ago, and has had little use. Updated the firmware over the air when prompted. Is this common behaviour with one of these boxes? Is fine if just viewing a channel for long lenghts of time, just happens when 'surfing' channels sometimes.
Thanks.

The info bar on mine sometimes doesn't update and the epg occassionally won't load. Cycling the power seems to get it working again. This seems to happen every couple of weeks.
I have only once had it lock up completly and get stuck on a channel. I purchased mine (DSE version) back in July and did the OTA update too.

No problems here with the DSE box after adding external fan to the top cover

I can still use the remote to cycle the power when it freezes, (not a "hard" reset physically removing power). This suggests to me that some level of processing is still occuring within the box itself, and it isn't a hardware freeze. Maybe a software issue which needs sorting/further testing??
As for the fan, its still quite cold with regard to the weather. I would hate to see it on a decent hot summers day, and I haven't over-clocked it :-) The unit is not in an enclosed cabinet, its open-air and there is a good 5 inches of clear space above the unit. Its sitting on a solid flat base so the vents underneath all get airflow.

I can also always use the remote to cycle the power and thought it was probably a software bug too. I presume at some stage there will be another update and the issues would go away. Your problem seems a lot worse though - how often does it lock up? Can you repeat the problem? If it happens quite frequently I would think about returning it.

Mine can run a whole month and not lock up at all
perhaps return it for a warranty service / claim
