Some pics attached from Google earth
Distance to central Motueka to Wharite approx 260 K/160 miles
Some of you may already know, before TV3 came to Nelson OFFICIALLY, JSF in Motueka set up a low power repeater that picked up the Channel 7 signal from Wharite and put it out on Channel 11 with just a watts of power.
Wharite reception gets even better as you get to Kaiteriteri as its a straight sea path, I had good reception of VHF TV3 from Wharite on a portable with bunny airs up at the Kaka Point Car park.
Wharite site is high enough for the signal to get over Durville Island into Motueka.
48V 50V and 59V Channels should be clear, as Mainland on 48V in Nelson should be to far away and blocked by the hills. 59V MT Campbell though will be hard to knock out as its pretty strong to Motueka and will come in off the back of the antenna.
Due to distance involved and sea path there might be some signal fading involved.
