A while ago Sky got me to do a power reset over the phone but not the normal unplug the power lead, wait a few minutes then plug lead back in, this was pushing buttons on the front of the decoder while turning power back on to stb. I can't remember what the sequence was. I have a Pace STB that has component out plugs.
Any Ideas anyone?

I used to have an old Pace box ex Multichoice Network from Africa .
From memory it was channel down and channel up buttons at same time
while powering up from wall socket .
Why do you need to do this ? cant you get SKY to get one of their installers to call and sort it ??

like kiwisteve said "why do you need it" unless someone fiddled with it and put on a pin code.there is a master reset "9949" but where you type it in i dont know i guess there is a reset option on the menu and as to what that code resets i have no idiea TRY AT OWN RISK .
note: sky will be cross if you stuff there box :rolleyes::rolleyes:

in all honesty your best bet is to get a reciver from any one of the suppliers as the pace that you have sounds like a sky unit so it the proprty of sky tv (and therefore a peice of crap) theres lots of good cheap boxes im sure that other members can point you in the direction of a good deal:D:D:D:D
although im couirous as to what new chs you got by changeing a card as the card only allows access to sky chs ie there is only a certain no of chs on optus D1/C1 which is where your dish is pointing so i cant see how you got a lot of "new chs" without moveing the dish???????

I am not going into it too much but the smartcard I have obtained has given me all available sky channels, some I didn't have because of what I had subscribed to and I already have another sat receiver into a 92cm dish on a moteck motor that lets me pick up the ku signals from the available sats and yes I have a card for optus channels on c1.Thanks for your interest and advice.

Hi Mr BeePee..
Your Ski Card will indeed fall over..
Dont think for one second that you have all those other channels running for free, unpaid for..
That Pace will send the next Ecm through that will kill all channel teirs not being paid for.. unless your card you got is still a valid sub card.
Your best bet to get around your card not being ECM'd is via a dedicated box that wont allow Auto updates or ECM's to be forwarded to the card.. Even then, your only working on borrowed time.

Thanks for the replies and advice.Am going to give sky gear back as you's are right it is useless but will wait until the pace gets Ecm. Am having more fun with all other sats even though I can't understand the lingo on many of them.

Beepee.. If you go about it the right way, you could get a year out of that card in the right box....Before it dies.
Quik hint.. surf on over to Austech or Sat-industry and do some searching.

Not sure if can be much help but when you do that down here for Motorola and Pace it is a hard reset that is why we walk you through it.

The most you will get out of a card that has no auto updates is about a few months as the cards have a feature to auto shutdown if no commands are recived to the card. SKY are not stupid!
