View Full Version : George FM Dropped by Sky?

Just done a fresh scan of Sky's Optus D1 transponders while keeping an eye open for any HD tests, and noticed that George FM has been removed from 12519 H.

At first I thought they might have simply pointed the STB's at the freeview broadcast, but I also checked their NIT and BAT tables and there is no sign of the channel.

Can someone with a Sky STB confirm if it is still present in the EPG or can be tuned in?

They are now on FREEVIEW Satellite.

Maybe SKY spat the dummy or maybe George FM did not renew their contract with SKY?

Quite aware that they are on freeview. Their old Sky transmission was one of the few encrypted radio feeds and I've been at them since freeview launched to go FTA.

Oddly both George FM and Niu FM are still listed on Sky's website as channels.

I was expecting to see Sky switch to the freeview transponder for George, but it appears they have simply dropped the service.
