I should have a sample of another brand of DVB-T STB coming in about 2-3 weeks.
This STB should have functions that are not available to any other DVB-T STB on the market in NZ so far.
I will announce more info when I have the sample hardware and I know it actually works in NZ properly.

Not yet. They are having some troubles with the AAC+ (as they call it) Audio at the moment after I sent them some actual NZ DVB-T Samples. (The Video was fine)

Well I got the box and its using the same hardware as the zinwell box (instead of the zinwell app it uses Galio Ant browser). (The zinwell binary runs on this box as well)
Galio Ant is basically a web browser and uses javascript to interact with the the hardware to do stuff.
Customising what is on the screen is really easy as all they are, are HTML pages with javascript backend to actually do stuff.
But it has a big problem.. AAC+ (LATM AAC) is not supported properly on Galio ANT so you get no sound unless you switch to TV3 and change to the secondary audio feed and you get the proper AC3 sound. And this is the big bug bear I have with it at the moment. (and they have no ETA when/if this will be supported (hardware wise it can do it 100%)
If they cannot get this problem sorted out I will go looking for someone else who can get a bow which works "out of the box" with NZ DTT.
I think this box would be great for the NZ Market except for this problem (and I could get someone to actually write a better html frontend than the horrible one which is default).
It can stream movies over the net as well (via multicast/unicast) , play local movie files,mp3 etc etc. Also no PVR functionality at the moment in ANT Galio (in the future :-( )
and the quality for TV3 is great after I figured to change it to 1080i 50Hz instead of 1080i 60Hz) .1080i over component and HDMI is possible
Thanks
Craig
