Now all we got to do is wait for a decision when DVB-T will reach 87% of the country so Taranaki will be included. As there are channels allocated for Mt Egmont, its got to happen at some point. Would be nice to have an indication when this might be likely to happen.

Doesn't this transmitter hold the record for the most weather damage?
I think they had to put rubber feet or something on it to deal with the lightning strikes

Storm damage record hmmm maybe that might be Obelisk or Murchison !! :D:D wouldn't be sure !! rubber feet I don't think you would want to do that you need the best earthing of the tower you can get in that volcanic pumic scoria stuff !! :D:D

Was just having a look at the Mt Campbell coverage for Nelson, would this signal likely reach Coastal Taranaki?

I wouldn’t think so, the reason I say this is because of the similarities between the Wellington signals not making it into Blenheim. While a strong FM and analog TV signal from Wellington can be received in Blenheim, the DTT signal is not. Mt Campbell FM coverage can be received along coastal Taranaki but I think the distance would be too much for DTT.
