DTT Audio encoding?

Does any one have technical details on the type of audio encoding to be deployed on the DTT service? I.e. AAC etc?

Primary audio is going to be HE-AAC in stereo, using LATM/LAOS encapsulation, which is a DVB standard. Channels may also decide to use AC-3 for surround sound.

One issue at present is that a lot of the mainstream DVB software for PCs doesn't support LATM encapsulated AAC. I've been covering some of the issues at http://www.mythtv.co.nz
