Hi Apsattv,
Not Waikato yet. I understand that Sky are finally turning all regions off later this month.
Cheers, Wild Bill.

OK was just checking as when they will go off I need to edit a few threads for various transmitter sites.
I have 91 element UHF antenna here and awaiting a Draco and I'm going up to my brother place here in Nelson (He lives on the highest hill in town) I'm gonna try to pick up Kaukau or Wharite. With a bit of luck Sky UHF Kaukau won't have shut off by then.

Sky to switch off UHF service
From http://www.stuff.co.nz/technology/3426685/Sky-to-switch-off-UHF-service
Sky Television will end UHF pay-television transmissions at midnight tonight, switching off a service once used by hundreds of thousands of households.
Spokesman Tony O'Brien said that, by yesterday afternoon, all but about 100 Sky subscribers had switched to its satellite television service, which provides better reception, more channels and can support high-definition broadcasts. The change would not affect Prime Television.
UHF (ultra-high frequency) broadcasts are picked by a television antenna, usually attached to a roof, rather than a satellite dish.
The closure of the service will free up radio spectrum that Sky Television could use to provide dozens of extra channels – possibly including 3D channels – to its 785,000 Sky Digital customers. It could also pave the way for it to broadcast to portable, handheld televisions and mobile phones.
Chief executive John Fellet said last month that he saw no reason why nine in 10 households would not eventually subscribe to Sky.
Unitec broadcasting lecturer Peter Thompson said that, at some point, Sky would meet a natural level of resistance from people who would not or could not pay for television, but it would take a clever analyst to predict exactly when that would be.
Outside of sport, Sky had not invested heavily in local programming and he was concerned that some in government thought "let them watch Sky" was the solution to all broadcasting problems.

What happens to Trackside / Discovery channel??

Prime TV keeps going as normal, I *assume* the Trackside channel will just be the same as the Trackside channel on Sky Digital.
Maori TV keeps going as normal, until Analogue switch off :)

Just checked The Box, it seems to have disappeared off of sugarloaf. Don't have any other sky chan's tuned in, so I can only assume they're gone too.

I wonder how much money Sky saves with this system switched off?
can confirm the Mt Te Aroha signal is now gone

There will be a big saving in electricty costs / microwave linking / Kordia fees and licence fees ( if the licences are not renewed ) :D:D

Would sky make their subscriptions cheaper?
I 100% doubt it

all gone ch 29/30,33/34,53/54
if sky didnt renew its licenses those freqs would probably be up for grabs,as sky still wants to maintain a uhf presence they will just downgrade their {on paper} signal power to less than 10w to get a $45 /ch license fee.

Yes but did they really try hard in Blenheim ?? 91 ele antenna ,low noise mast head amp and tall mast ?? :D:D

have a closer look at the kaukau mast. there you will see only 4 panels looking northward compared to the other uhf 8 north 8 south,
hearsay is that blenheim used to only get 50 or below on uhf so minus 15 diff analogue-digital minus at least another 15 and left with sfa .
whariti has 18 panels 6west, 6 south, 6 east.
checkout mt egmont uhf at your brothers place just in case

Remember the DTT at KauKau has its own antenna
and radiation pattern is not the same as the analogues
