Just thinking about getting a Moteck as a precursor to doing the investment into a T90, and wondering if anyone has tried successfully or not to use a Dual Throat Sky LNB (22khz to switch between LNB's) on a dish with a Moteck, would I still be able to use the second LNB, or would it most likely be easier to replace the dual throat with a single LNB and use the Moteck for what it is best for. Of course I would be using this with a Dreambox, which I do know works fine with USALS, but not sure about the Dual LNB aspect of it tho...
Interested to know what others opinions are on this...
$112 off trademe seems like a pretty good deal. Unless someone can do one cheaper than that for me ;)

About the only thing you are going to gain from this is faster channel changing, between C1/D1 apart from that you will only be using the one throat

And from further reading I may have fun with the Skew as well, it seems that the Optus fleed of D1/D2/C1 are on a radically different skew as to all the other birds up there... so it will be a fine line to find what skew works with most of them.. I am now coming understand why people prefer the T90 as you can get the skew right for all of them...

With a moteck type motor you really need a 90 or better to make up for the skew issues as you have to compromize as to which sat service you prefer.
Like down here Asiasat4 drops away if skews spot on for optus birds. Especially if D1 is skewed perfectly to get imparja. Best you get one and spend hours playing thats what its all about a big time wasting hobby :D

Hummm.. If only the dual throat allowed me to skew the two LNB's differently... or if a "LNB Skew Motor" allowed me to rotate the LNB depending on which bird I was looking at...
Also totally agree with the Time Wasting aspect... my wife MORE than totally agrees with you as well ;)
Ask kiwisteve about an lnb rotater...

Agree Compromise is the key..an time, larger the dish better compromise can be given..along with a quality lnb.., receiving all current content on the arc H an V D1, intelsat2 down to Asiasat4..data only on GE-23.

I have my Moteck all setup and running after first being mostly sure I have found true north and doing the setup from there. I have had problems getting AS4 and NSS5 tuned in. I tuned the dish into D1 12643 V 6874SR which I have found to be the best TP to get the dish pointed accurately! So I can get from PAS2 -> B3 fine, with 85% sig & quality on a cloudy day, so overall I was pretty happy.
I think I have however found the problem, it seems that the Standard 65CM Sky dishes only go "down" to 10Deg as the lowest lattitude, so if I wanted to get my Dish Declnation setup correctly I need to have the dish set to 6.2Deg to get the Arc to be right in Wellington.
I wasn't using my cheapie Sat Meter (thought of that once I had got off the roof <doh!>), just using the Sat Meter in the STB, so I didn't check to see if I was actually seeing a sat or if I hadn't put in the right Freq's/SR's into the box.
Had a good wiggle around on AS4 and couldn't find anything, nor could I find anything on NSS5.
Does anyone have any good suggestions on if my Sharp Dual Throat LNB is correctly skewed to D1 12643 V 6874SR how much I may need to skew it in either direction to be able to pickup a good TP off AS4 / NSS5. And what freqs on NSS5 I should setup get Lock, as Lyngsat doesn't mention any definite TP's that are on all the time for NSS5.
Or perhaps is it time to get a 1Meter dish, and perhaps a MTI LNB to go with it.
