Hi All,
Question please... I have been looking at a number of DVB-S receivers and just wondering if this model is worth it's money?
I didn't want to buy cheap rubbish, had them before..
Is the upscaling worth the extra $70 please?
Thank you
Gary

I really like the picture quality of older Topfield STBs with component output. Generally, I find that they are very good boxes. I have no experience of their newer boxes with upscalers. Are FV DVB-S channels broadcast high enough quality to make it worth upscaling?

Hi All
I have one final question please...
Looking to purchase a full HD TV within the next few must, but currently my 42" Plasma doesn't have a HDMI connection.
Would I be able to connect the TF5050CI to my TV in the short term using this cable??

Maybe ask the seller of the TF5050CI? Some STBs will do 1080i over component, but I think that the TF050CI may not - but the seller should be able to confirm this.

I had one of these. Doesn't receive SBS HD, and the upscaled picture had a weird fish-eye effect (things wide in the middle of the screen and narrow at the edge).
In the end I decided my DSE-7500 (freeview only out of the box, but other channels can be added with a bit of prodding) with component video fed to my Sony Bravia 32" LCD actually looked better.
Can't really recommend it. Ended up giving it away to friends who were using an old warehouse 29" CRT telly. Looks perfectly fine on that thing...
