Sky should soon (not seen them yet during a scan) have Sky Sport 4, 5, 6 and 7 up soon (chan 131-134)

No HD coverage will be done by Sky due to lack of bandwidth

Although this event is going to be filmed in HD, SKY does not have enough bandwidth available to broadcast Sport 4-7 in HD. So a decision was made to broadcast in standard definition as this way we are able to give customers unprecedented coverage of this event as described above. We hope you can appreciate any decision we take is never done so lightly and we also hope you will be able to enjoy our coverage of the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics.

Guess they have not got their uplink for Optus D3 ready yet

Guess they don't care enough about their subscribers who have HD ticket.

Well having to pay extra to get HD on the box you are already paying more for already , to me seems a ripoff , but I guess the rich will pay for it !! :D:D

I'm a bit divided on this. While i'm annoyed there is no HD coverage, I'd rather have 4 SD channels than 1 HD channel.

Copy and paste from my post on Geekzone:

4 channels have now turned up on 12608H 22500. They are NDS encrypted (as expected), and are 720x576 25fps. Currently showing promo loops, so I can't do any bitrate checks yet.

It seems no channels have been moved, but rather they've just bunged another 4 channels onto that mux. Would have been nice if they'd temporarily vacated one of the PPV muxes like 12394H and done a proper job.

Saw a few of 'em earlier, just finished installing a splitter for the LNB, did a rescan, and picked up 4, 6 and 7, didn't see 5, but maybe I need to go through the complete list (150+ now).

How can you tell that they're playing promo loops if they're encrypted?

depends if your using another box like a dreambox to view the feed

anyway, I did a scan and found Sky Sport 4 - 7
Checked the bitrate and all average 2.2mb - 160k audio

yeah, that's what I got too. Hope they pump it up closer to 4, or ideally 6 for the games. But I can dream, squeezing that many channels onto one transponder can't be healthy for high quality footage :ngazzat:

I see. I thought that they would've locked 'em out to everyone. Quite unlike sky, it seems.
