Interest remains high in Mainland TV, but it is yet to sell, says owner Gary Watson.
He said at least seven parties were interested in the regional television station, including some from overseas and from around New Zealand.
Mr Watson announced the planned sale soon after his failed bid to win the Nelson mayoralty in October.
He also announced soon after that he and his wife Christine would be moving to Fiji, where he was setting up infrastructure for a new national television station there. He said yesterday they planned to move in the New Year, and would also be doing similar work for a station in Samoa.
"All parties are very interested (in Mainland TV), and we're talking and giving it time, and that's quite okay.
"It would be nice, however, if a local group could get together and take it over."
The business was debt-free and comprised about $2.6 million worth of assets, including properties. Some of the broadcast frequencies had been renewed through to the year 2020, Mr Watson said.
The Watsons plan to keep their Motueka home.
