There is a feature within 'vBulletin' that enables the 'new reply's tab or top bar' to be a different colour. (http://www.buildyourdream.co.nz/forum/index.php use it on their forumn) This feature I find very useful and it is not enabled as far as I can tell. Having the unread posts identified this way I find is very useful.
I am already finding that I am having to find the date on each post to see if it is the latest post. More often than not I find the writers joining date rather than the date they made the post.
If this is in the personal user preferences, I have not found it to date.
Keep up the excelent work.

The new posts button works fine, it takes you to the new posts.
One clicks on the topic of interest, and the list opens up.
If you have not been in for three or four days the list can be quite long. You have to check the date on the posts to ensure you do not keep reading past the last post you read on your last visit. Assuming you can remember when you last visited. You end having to up reading at least one pre-read message to think 'Yes' this is where I was last time.
If you are in every day this would never be a problem.
Is the 'new posts' button only supposed to show you threads that you personally have not read yet?
The other site must use the date/time of viewers last visit and then changes the tab bar (where the title of the message sits) to a different colour for the threads that the individual has not read yet. I never gave it any thought on the other forumn. I just miss the feature on yours.

hi OneTouch
It would be very helpful if you could put a screenshot of the feature.

If you click on the New Posts link it will take you to the list of threads that have new posts since your last visit.
If you then click on the little circle with the down arrow at the beginning of the thread title, that will take you to the first new post since your last visit.

What I normally do is right click and open in a new tab where the pic from iomkiwi shows.

I usually go down the page middle clicking all the icons so that everything opens in new tabs, on some forums I find that it sometimes doesn't lose the unread posts status when you reload the forums if you click too quickly, but thats better then what happens on geekzone where things are marked new under some arbitrary algorithm that I cant figure out
