Hi there,,

I appears that Sky has changed it's policy of free HD on the FTA Chanels. Now you need the HD ticket at $10 / month extra.

http://tinyurl.com/r62adq

"There are two basic pricing options for MY SKY HDi

Option 1
$99 joining fee per decoder
$15 rental for the MY SKY HDi unit per month (per decoder)
$10 per month HD access ticket

Option 2
$599 joining fee per decoder
No ongoing monthly rental for the MY SKY HDi unit
$10 per month HD access ticket

These prices will vary dependant on your set up (eg multiroom, additional outlets or extra cabling required) or if you are already a MY SKY subscriber. For specific pricing based on your set up and requirements please call us on 0800 759 007

You must be subscribed to a channel to be able to view HD content on it. Currently HD content is available on TV3, Sky Movies 1, Sky Movies Greats, Sky Sports 1 and Sky Sports 2.

(TV ONE and TV2 will be available in High Definition from 1st June 2009)

The $10 HD access ticket is additional to your standard subscription and is required to view HD content on the channels listed above (You can choose to use MySky without the HD ticket, giving you the full benefits of MY SKY without the HD access)

To view HD content through MY SKY HDi your television would need to be both HDMI and HDCP. Televisions that do not have both of these features will not display content in HD through MY SKy HDi."

I don't read it like that? their deal with TV3 is it is available without the $10 ticket.

TV1/2 should be the same

But you should also be aware that if you should choose to, you can't time shift TV3 (or some others) to your DVD or VHS recorder because its now copy protected by SKY (not TV3 on free to air), and won't record .

I'm assuming the HD signal changes over at midnight tonight....

I think you will be right, the EPG info on tv1 and 2 has been changed to a warning message about the switchover and to update series link if used

Nothing happened, even rebooted the box to make it rescan everything. Am guessing they are going to wait until the current programs that are on to finish first, the program on tv1 finished at 12.30

And TV1 and TV2 now have copy protection to prevent casual copying to DVD.

Picture looks much better this evening so I'm guessing they were running on low bandwidth all morning.
Looking at Satcodx I've noticed a change, there was an Aux HD channel which appears to of disappeared. TV1, 2 and 3 all seem to be sitting around 10mb which still is giving a nice picture

Just one thing the ENCODER has a lot to do with it. Remember when Sky upgraded their encoders, they gained enough bandwidth to squeeze 1 extra SDTV channel per half T.P

I'm thinking the Freeview mux might be using older gear that might be part of the problem.
