Just had MySkyHDi installed today, I feel pretty pleased with it tho some of the SD channels don't look that great.
I noticed we have an HD version of TV3, but with watching it..it didn't feel very HD to me (if comparing to the qual of a blu-ray movie).
I had a look at this site: http://www.satcodx5.com/1600/eng/

Seems Sky are only giving TV3 not more than half the bandwidth for their own HD channels (would explain the $10 HD ticket). Qual wise it looks like how it originally was on freeview before it got compressed a bit.

I understand there is a new optus satellite going up soon where some HD content is going to be placed, are we likely to see TV3 shifted onto it and have the bandwidth increased?

on a small OT side-note, the installer just used our current dual LNB and said they will be back later this year to replace it, he put down a 2nd cable but its not connected to anything at both ends.

Sky have a contract for capacity on the new D3 but I doubt they will put Tv3on it. Much more likely that there will be a mux on it uplinked from Aussie with various new hd services.

BBC HD and others etc..

This is slitely OT but looking at a HDi at the end of the year.. I use a Harmony remote with a Sony V300 TV which won't switch directly to the HDMI inputs without running a macro. (It switchs to all the others OK) Does the HDi have the ability to output to SVideo and HDMI at the same time like my Freeview HD box. I use Svideo currently so it would be nice for the plebs here just to press "Watch Sky" button as they do now and not have to wait for the macro to run and when I want to watch something in HD I press the "Watch Sky HD" button??

Thanx in advance..

Well from what I have seen so far TV 3 via DTT looks better than it does
on Sky HD :D:D perhaps the extra signal processing !!

Bones is on TV3 at present, and its advertised as being in HD but the picture qual didn't seem any different. Is anyone at present able to measure how much bandwidth TV3 HD (on sky) is getting compared to the 2 Sky movies HD channels?
