Sweet. They have great Greek packages. Damn expensive though....

Can one use one's own STB with a UBI card?

will UBI's sat rental rise by about 20% as nz s 4 million + oz 20 million = 24 million $ per tp?

What you talkin about willilliiss? :D ( wanted to say that for ages)

24 million per t.p? what are you talking about??? having the beam on Dual covering Australia+NZ most likely costs no more than having it as Australia only.

The bigger question should be is there ANYTHING on UBI that will be of interest in New Zealand as the Ethnic makeup here is so different.

The answer apparently is no. This may mean it's a deal breaker for me and those also who are happy with their existing STBs. UBI channels would be a nice addition for us, but not our staple TV diet. :)

wondered if mr ubi could give an indication of sat charges as there is only 1 thing behind optus getting new sats;more capacity, more money. in an older sky agm report, they paid 18m a year for 4 tp s or not much more than $1 head.

They need more optus sats as their current fleet is needing replacement.

anyone got an update as to when the changeover will happen, or has it already happened albeit on an AU only beam?

Lazer

Change over has happened as planned just seems its only beaming to Australia at the moment...

Thanx for that Lazer.

Troubles @ Optus? Traditionally, H tp's have been reserved to AU only beams (later NZ only beams on D1) whereas V tp's have been deemed by & large for dual carriage, will it be possible this will change with D2? In other words, might UBI have to change to V in order to reach the NZ market via D2?

Recently, the H beam stuff on B3 has started beaming to NZ. Hence CMC, PressTV, etc all can be received here now. Or is that on another beam?

It was an AU only H tp on B3 originally (12564), then changed to 12706V in anticipation for it's move to D2 on a dual beam covering both AU & NZ.

Interesting I would of thought that if you turn one beam on a freq that is dual it would go on and transmit dual seems like this new sat has more features to turn the beams on and off it seems... ?

I would expect to get the necessary beam they have to make configuration changes. This probably means other services on B3/D2 have to be shuffled around.

I'm using a Toroidal T90, and most of my signal strengths appear to be higher than the GlobeCast transponders, well over 80%

Another ERT (greek), an Italian channel, and a few others. A couple of radio stations too.
